Dr. Teresa Wlasiuk
LAc, DAOM
Doctor of Acupuncture & East Asian Medicine, Pelvic Health Specialist
My Story
Dr. Teresa Wlasiuk is a California-licensed acupuncturist with 12 years of clinical experience and advanced training in pelvic floor acupuncture, dry needling, orthopedics, and women’s health. She holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from Emperor’s College and a B.S. in Nutritional Science & Biochemistry from UC Davis. Before entering medicine, Dr. Wlasiuk spent a decade in biomedical research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Columbia University, studying cancer biology and publishing federally funded research. After a Vipassana retreat shifted her career path, she trained extensively across Taiwan, Japan, Guatemala, and the U.S., gaining exposure to diverse clinical systems including stroke rehab, orthopedic acupuncture, pediatric care, and underserved community medicine.
Her pelvic floor expertise grew from personal postpartum rehab and formal certification—completing a 50-hour Pelvic Floor Acupuncture program in 2025. She integrates pelvic techniques with orthopedic acupuncture, breath mechanics, diaphragm work, and dry needling for the low back, hips, and pelvic girdle. Dr. Wlasiuk has treated a wide range of pelvic-related conditions including pelvic pain syndromes, postpartum dysfunction, hip/SI imbalance, core and diaphragm restriction, nerve entrapments, and chronic low back pain. She also brings deep experience in women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pediatrics, neurological disorders, and complex chronic conditions.
Her background includes clinical work with the VA Pain Management Center, Native American communities at Standing Rock, global medical brigades in Guatemala, and supporting elite athletes - including helping retired U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Charlie Linville prepare to summit Mt. Everest, leading to an 89% reduction in his phantom limb pain. Dr. Wlasiuk believes in a whole-body, integrative approach: using acupuncture, biochemistry, movement mechanics, and trauma-informed care to help patients restore function, reduce pain, and reconnect with their bodies.
